J & J Hip Hop Dance Company
Instructor & Choreographer
Mikayla Douglas is a hard working individual with a passion for dance.
This is her twelfth year of dancing, and her second year teaching. She had the privilege of learning from choreographers who have worked with the Jabbawockeez, America’s Best Dance Crew, Step Up, Stomp the Yard, and many more. Although Hip-Hop is her favorite style, she also enjoys tap, ballet, jazz, musical theatre, contemporary, lyrical, and pop-n-lock. She was awarded the full ride dance scholarship from Barbara Ellis Dance, in June 2012. She was an Honor student at Liberty High School and spends a great amount of her free time working with kids. Her journey continues with her sophomore year at Grand Canyon University, where she has already been awarded an Academic Scholarship. Her plan is to get a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Family and Marriage Counseling. Mikayla strongly believes that children are society’s hope for a brighter future. Working with children has always been a main goal of hers, and she’s excited to continue pursuing that journey at J & J Hip Hop Dance Company.
Currently Mikayla travels to and from college and helps lead classes at J & J when she is in town.
“We will be working as one unit to strive, inspire, support, and love each other as the team that we are meant to be. I am truly blessed to have been given this amazing opportunity to work at J&J Hip-Hop, and I can’t wait to watch many dreams come true.” –Mikayla D.
