J & J Hip Hop Dance Company
Instructor & Choreographer
Kenyetta Roberts has an outgoing and high energy for dance.
She trained from 2008-2010 with “Cleo Parker Robinson African Dance”. There she learned more about the culture, and would perform with her classes often. Kenyetta also participated in many street performances in Denver on the 16th Street Mall where she played drums and danced while getting the crowds involved. This was a passion she had simply to put smiles on people's faces. Any money she collected for the performances she would give right back to the needy children or homeless passing by. Kenyetta took some time to fully commit her life to God and decide how she could use her gift for even more. In 2012, she began her inspirational dance journey. “I put away the sneakers and tee shirts for leotards and skirts.” This was a new thing for Kenyetta and she felt like it was a time of free flow dance movements inspired by God. She felt like there was inner healing, deliverance, and freedom in this dance and was often given feedback that it deeply affected people she performed for. In 2013 Kenyetta was asked to join a break out Denver Dance Crew called DTB “Dare To Believe”. This crew performed for churches, special events, and for famous Christian Music Artists. In the meantime, she began miming and challenging herself to choreograph hip hop and mime routines for various occasions. Kenyetta was mentored by a professional mime dance instructor and God fearing woman by the name of Petra Scott. In May 2014, Kenyetta auditioned as a dancer for a life changing inspirational tour the “Restoration Explosion Tours”. She was selected and given a position to help lead and choreograph the Hiz Hop Dance Crew on these tours. She is excited to continue her journey with the tours, and also in the classes.
Kenyetta hopes to inspire anyone and everyone possible, as she was inspired.
